The Cloam Oven Ready for Installation

Here it is successfully fired (by Liz Williams at Bristol School of Art) and ready to install. The crank body is about 3cm thick and has fired very well. The next stage is to get it fully insulated and ready to cook. These ‘cloam ovens’ are meant to be set in a wall and insulated with brick/stone and sand. We aim to get it set up roughly by Saturday in order to try it out. A more permanent setup can follow. It is 45cm deep (back to front internally which is a bit small but should be satisfactory for bread).
